QUICK START GUIDE
Start, document, migrate, and prove handoffs with Orbnex Connect.
A short guide for operators and customers using Orbnex Connect for cross-connect workflows, CRM-ready records, rack/port context, LOA/CFA documents, migrations, and enterprise power planning.

Best path: create access, complete checkout, sign in, review the dashboard, add or import circuit records, generate handoff proof when needed, then use Power Planning for enterprise capacity workflows.
1. Create Access
- Go to orbnexconnect.com/access.
- Create an account with company, name, username, work email, and password.
- Complete secure Stripe checkout.
- Return to Access and sign in.
- The portal opens after the subscription check passes.
2. Use The Portal
- Dashboard: active circuits, migrations, broken paths, CRM status, and health.
- Inventory: search by circuit, provider, facility, status, MRC, and renewal.
- Detail: path trace, performance, LOA/CFA status, CRM reference, generated documents, and activity.
- Rack + Ports: focused cabinet, RU, panel, and port context for circuit work without replacing a full DCIM tool.
- Map: facilities, providers, carriers, and customer paths.
- Docs + Audit: keep changes and handoffs traceable.
Once you're logged in — a guided walkthrough
- See it live first: try the import sandbox with a copy of your own spreadsheet. It parses and validates the file entirely in your browser and saves nothing, so you can see exactly what Orbnex would find before any record is created in your workspace.
- Read your Dashboard: LOA/CFA coverage, renewal exposure, inventory health, and MRC at risk. The Alerts bell (top right) is your watchdog — renewals due, missing documents, broken circuits, and power/fiber capacity warnings. Click an alert to jump straight to it.
- Bring your circuits in: open Import / Export and upload a CSV or Excel export — Orbnex auto-maps the columns, previews the rows, and you publish. Or use Add record to enter one manually.
- Work a circuit: click any circuit for its A-to-Z path trace, health score, and the documents tab — generate a versioned LOA or CFA PDF and track its signature status.
- Stay ahead of renewals: the Lifecycle and Intelligence views bucket renewals by 30/60/90 days, show MRC at risk, and flag recoverable spend — decommissioned circuits still billing.
- Plan a migration: the Migrations view builds a batch, validates it (endpoint collisions, power headroom, LOA readiness, diversity), blocks scheduling while there are blockers, and saves a locked proof snapshot.
- Watch capacity: under Infrastructure, track Power/RPP load and A/B feed diversity, plus Fiber capacity — add a cabinet's trunks (e.g. 24 strands / 12 pairs), allocate pairs, and get warned before a cabinet runs out of pairs or loses diversity.
- Let it reach out: in Account → Notifications, enable the weekly email digest and set recipients; add a Webhook to push events into Slack or ticketing. Preview the digest any time.
- Export & hand off: export circuits, renewals, compliance, audit, power, and a monthly summary to CSV, plus printable reports — one click for customer or system handoffs.
3. Connect CRM Data
- Bring the data in by CSV or Excel export from whichever system holds it — your CRM, ticketing tool, DCIM or a spreadsheet. Orbnex Connect has no vendor-specific connectors: it reads the export, not the source system.
- Map the external record ID, customer, circuit ID, provider, facility, A-end, Z-end, status, MRC, and renewal fields.
- Test a small sample before a full import.
- Review rejected or incomplete records.
- Never share webhook secrets or CRM tokens in email or spreadsheets.
- Decide how records flow: import by CSV or Excel, receive events on your workspace webhook endpoint, or export reports back out to CSV. Orbnex Connect does not write updates into your other systems.
4. Use Power Planning
- Add RPP capacity records for each workspace before assigning breaker spaces.
- Save customer power assignments with cabinet, RPP, panel, breaker, feed, kW, and approval notes.
- Check utilization before assigning new load.
- Use blue for healthy, amber for watch list, and red for overload or review.
- Only oversubscribe when the engineering rule allows it.
- Fiber capacity: add a cabinet's prewired trunks (strands/pairs), allocate pairs to circuits, and Orbnex warns you before a cabinet runs out of pairs or loses A/B diversity.
- Keep assignments tied to the workspace audit trail.
5. Daily Workflow
- Check warnings and migration items.
- Review new CRM/import records.
- Fix missing facility, provider, A-end, Z-end, LOA/CFA, renewal, or cost data.
- Use Rack + Ports when a support or migration workflow needs visual rack, RU, panel, or port context.
- Generate LOA/CFA paperwork when a provider or customer needs handoff proof.
- Check power capacity before committing new customer assignments.
- Record changes so the audit trail stays clean.
6. Excel Exports
- Cross-connects: export portal circuit records as CSV for Excel.
- Power assignments: export customer, cabinet, RPP, panel, breaker, feed, phase, allocated kW, measured kW, and status.
- RPP capacity: export capacity, allocated load, reserved load, measured load, phase load, oversubscription, and risk.
- Templates: download circuit import, CRM mapping, power assignment, and RPP capacity templates.
